More than 400 nurses and urology specialists gathered in Paris from February 25 to 27 for the 13th International EAUN Meeting. Participants came from over 35 different countries with the majority coming from mainland Europe.
Simultaneous sessions were held on both Saturday and Sunday, making it a tough choice for the delegates to schedule their attendance and participation. But despite the hectic programme, the workshops on Saturday morning were well-attended and participants gave positive assessments regarding the quality, content and scientific level of the whole conference.
“We are satisfied with the success of the meeting and we welcome the enthusiastic response we received from all those who attended the sessions,” said the EAUN organisers.
Monday’s session featured insightful state-of-the art lectures, open forums and closed with the Annual General Meeting and the awarding ceremony. On Saturday afternoon the latest evidence-based guideline of the EAUN on Catheterisation was launched, the findings of which had been thoroughly discussed in one of the morning workshops.
About 30 nursing abstracts are submitted yearly for the poster presentations. This year’s best poster award was granted to Mr. Martin Kloeser from Germany. Mrs. Hanny Cobussen-Boekhorst and her team from the Netherlands won the very tight race between the two submitted plans in the Nursing Research Competition. For details of the research presentations, check out our webcasts to hear the jury discussion and the testimony of a former research competition winner who spoke on the importance and rewards of nursing research. Full details and the complete winners’ list can also be found in our webpages (see page Award winners).
The webcasts of most sessions and the presented abstracts can be accessed through the sessions in the EAUN scientific programme on this website. Posters, Difficult cases and Research plans that were presented can be found in the section ”Useful resources for nurses” on our website at www.eaun.uroweb.org
