By Air
Paris is well-connected by air, possessing two main passenger airports. Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly are managed through a single body, and both airports allow easy access to the city centre. At 60 million passengers per year, Charles de Gaulle Airport is the second-largest airport in Europe. It offers direct connections to most major global cities with the world’s biggest airlines.
The high-speed TGV train runs a service from Charles de Gaulle to the rest of the country, and regional train (RER line B) services also run to several stops all over Paris. Several airport shuttle busses regularly run to the Parisian centre, and to main train stations.
By Car
Driving into Paris is facilitated by the Boulevard Périphérique, which circles the centre of Paris. The A86 forms a larger, second ring road. France’s national Autoroute toll roads are well-maintained and easy to navigate.
By Train
France’s famous high-speed rail network, the Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV), connects to several other Europe-wide train services. Paris can be reached with high-speed services from London (Eurostar), Germany (ICE), and Belgium and The Netherlands (Thalys) with a seamless connection.
Regular international train services are also available, and Paris has many international stations to accommodate travelers coming from any direction.
